Catskill Mountain Group Review Boards

All,

 

Catskill Mountain Group will be holding a review board on 30 November, 2019. This review board will take place at Signature Flight Support from 1230 to 1500. The following members MUST apply for this review board to the Squadron Commander at mike.mazanec@ny030.org no later than 22 November 2019 if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

 

  1. You have been nominated by the Squadron Commander for an “Of the Year Award”
  2. You are applying for a National Cadet Special Activity (NCSA)
  3. You are applying for a Staff Position listed below at the New York Wing Encampment:
    1. Squadron Commander
    2. Squadron First Sergeant
    3. Officer in Charge (OIC)
    4. Cadet Command Staff (Cadet Commander, Cadet Deputy Commander, Cadet Executive Officer)

Those members who have been selected as the Squadron nominee for an “Of the Year” award have already been notified of their nomination and need to attend this review board.

 

I recognize that the date of our review boards is prior to the official opening of NCSA applications, but we are up against the 01 DEC deadline set by NYW Cadet Programs.

Oct 15th Open House

All,

As a reminder, our squadron will be having an Open House next Tuesday in lieu of our regular meeting.  We’ll be meeting at the US Army 2nd Aviation Detachment at Stewart International Airport (see below for directions).  Please invite your friends and family – all are welcome!  

Attached is a flyer – email, post on social media, or print and hand out to help get the word out!  Please use the signup form below so we know how many to expect and what food or beverage everyone is bringing (instructions previously posted on this).

From the International Boulevard entrance:

1. Make a right on Bruenig Road
2. Make a left on Y St and take to the end

4. Take until you reach the black metal fence/gate at the corner of the airport. A sign should say 2nd Aviation Detachment West Point.    

From Bruenig Road entrance:

1. Make a right on 1st Street
2. Take the road until it turns to the right

Also please bring your display posters.

All members are encouraged to bring something to the open house.

October Orientation Flights

Cadets,

The airplane is open for Orientation Flights on October 12th (Saturday) with a rain date of October 13th (Sunday). The flight is at 0900 and located at Orange County Airport (500 Dunn Rd, Montgomery, NY 12549).  The uniform of the day will be the ABU, and cadets must bring their CAPID and Form 60-80. If cadets are interested in a flight or have questions, contact C/2nd Lt Connell at baconnell22@gmail.com. Be sure to include how many orientations flights you have had in the past, your CAPID, and your weight. You will be contacted with in the next two days.
