March Field Training

Good evening everyone,

There were issues this evening with people being turned away at the gate by Stewart base security. To avoid this in the future, please be sure to fill out this form, so that security has your info on hand.

Be sure to always bring ID, in the case of cadets CAP ID.

My apologies to anyone whe had issues this evening. We’re working to ensure that problems like this won’t crop up again.

Upcoming TRAEX Information

Here is updated information for the upcoming TRAEX:

Mission base:   Orange County Airport

Report Time:    0800 – Saturday, 24 Feb 2018

All members must have proper uniform associated with what they are training in as well as all required forms and ID/qualification cards. All members able to train out in the field are to make sure they have appropriate attire for inclement weather (currently a 60% chance of rain).

Once again, there is no scheduled training for Friday or Sunday – we do not have enough participants to open a mission base.

Cadets were asked last week to bring in information for Eservices; this meeting an effort will be made to ensure that all cadet data in Eservices is correct/to-date.

Drill testing will be available to cadets for the duration of the meeting.

Important TRAEX Update

ALCON,

Our originally scheduled training exercise for February 23rd to 25th, has been limited to ONLY SATURDAY THE 24th. This is due to lacking enough personell for a mission base on Friday and Sunday.

Training will be held locally, likely at Stewart Airport.

Kentucky Cadet Assists Fellow Students After Deadly School Shooting

As mentioned in our meeting yesterday evening, here is the article from CAP News.

This shows the training we do can actually make a difference when put into a real life emergency situation. Not just our Emergency Services training, but our leadership classes. This cadet was able to maintain control of the situation, making him able to use his training to aid his classmates. This is what makes us future leaders of this country.
