Sullivan County CAP Meeting

Cadets,

I would like to take between 6-8 of our cadets to Sullivan County’s CAP meeting on Saturday, 4 November, to help our fellow cadets learn about the program.  We’ll be showing them drill and ceremony, correct uniform wear, and leadership. Cadets that would like to attend need to be at least a C/A1C.

When:  Saturday, 4 November
Where:  Meet at Orange County Airport at 3:45 pm
Uniform: BDU/ACU
Transportation: CAP van
Pick up time: 7:45 pm at Orange County Airport

In place of this week’s meeting, we’ll be having a Halloween party! Attendance is optional, but we hope you’ll join us.  Costumes are recommended but not required. The squadron will provide pizza, and we would also like everyone to bring something. If your last name begins with:
 
A through G – a snack food (chips, pretzels, etc)
H through M – a 2-liter bottle of soda, iced tea, etc
N through Z – a dessert (cookies, brownies, etc)
 
Bring your favorite board game, or play along with one of the group games we’ll be doing.  There will be a prize for the best costume!

Squadron Leadership School

Senior Members,

Catskill Mountain Group will hold a Squadron Leadership School [SLS] on Sat-Sun 21-22 Oct 2017 at Stewart International Airport [SWF].

SLS is a leadership and staff development course for company grade officers, and a requirement for completion of CAP Level II.  The course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and exercises to teach a variety of topics useful in CAP and real life.  Anyone who has not taken the course is encouraged to enroll in this local offering.  Cost is $30, and includes all course materials plus lunch and refreshments both days.
