CyberPatriot

posted in: General info, Training | 0

Hello All,

As you know registration is open for this year’s  Air Force Association CyberPatriot team. We have started training for CyberPatriot XII already and training will be through online and in-person meetings. Basic computer skills (how to navigate file systems, familiarity with Windows operating system) and a computer running Windows are all that’s required. Competitions will be held at Newburgh Free Academy once a month from Nov through Feb 2020 and typically last from 3:00PM to 10PM.

If you would like to participate please attend the next practice session and feel free to contact me miguelconnell@gmail.com with any questions.

Very Respectfully,
C/1st Lt Connell

What is CyberPatriot?

At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services in a six hour period. Teams compete for the top placement within their state and region, and the top teams in the nation earn all-expenses paid trips to Baltimore, MD for the National Finals Competition where they can earn national recognition and scholarship money. – CyberPatriot Website. Group Banquet Event

posted in: Special events | 0

All,

The Cadet Advisory Council is planning a Catskill Mountain Group Awards Banquet on November 16th. We will need to know how many cadets and senior members will be able to attend. If you are interested in helping or getting involved please let us know in the form as well. The banquet will recognize achievements and multiple “of the year” awards. This will also be a great event to network with the rest of the Catskill Mountain Group and meet cadets outside of our own squadron. Contact either me, C/2nd Lt M. Connell (miguel.connell@ny030.org), or C/CMSgt Santos (Rohaz579@gmail.com) if there are any questions.
