Updated info for Christmas Party

Just a few reminders for the Christmas party Tuesday.

  • Families and guests are welcome to attend.
  • The ugly sweater contest is optional, but there will be a prize!
  • Cadets who aren’t assigned a flight should bring chips or a similar snack.

Finally, we’ll be setting up tables, etc starting at 6 pm.  If you’re able to arrive early to help, it would be appreciated!

Just a couple reminders for the Holiday party we are having next meeting (18th)

  • There will be no uniform, civilian attire is appropriate.
  • Ugly sweater contest, wear the ugliest sweater you have
  • ALPHA flight, everyone in alpha flight bring a small appetizer
  • BRAVO flight, everyone in bravo flight, bring a small dessert
  • CHARLIE flight, everyone in charlie flight, bring a drink

(If you do not know what flight you’re in, look on the squadron chart that was posted down below on the website)

  • Cookie baking competition 1 set of cookies per flight to be judged by command staff, fight sgts and commanders will organize how that will be done

O-Flights This Weekend – Sign Up

Our squadron has recently got openings for Orientation Flights. These flights give you an opportunity to explore our aerospace education firsthand. The flights are completely free of charge, so take advantage of the opportunity when available. At this time, only 3 cadets may attend per day, this will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, and you’ll be notified if you are good to go.

Deadline to Register for Winter RCLS

Cadets:  The cut-off date to register for this year’s winter RCLS (Region Cadet Leadership School) in CT is 15 Dec 2018, and only 12 seats are left.  RCLS is designed for Cadet Officers to learn new skills and knowledge they need to be more effective leaders in their home squadrons and wings.  There are only two sessions held a year in the Northeast Region, and the next session is scheduled for the summer of 2019 in Massachusetts.  Cadets must be a graduate of either Cadet Officer School in AL or a Region Cadet Leadership School to earn the Eaker Award.

Where: Camp Niantic,  East Lyme, CT
When: 26 to 31 December 2018
Cost: Approximately $120.00 (students) 
Uniform: Blues, ABU/BDU

Winter Ranger School at Hawk Mountain

Registration is now open for Hawk Mountain Ranger School’s Winter Ranger School 2019
 
16-17 February 2019
 
Registration is open to all active Cadet and Senior Members!
 
 
 
 
Winter Ranger School is designed to prepare Emergency Services, CAP Aircrew, and Ranger Team members for operations and survival situations in cold weather environments for up to 72 hours.  There are four course options available depending on each individual’s experience.
 

CONDITIONS: There are no buildings to house students.  All students will be spending the duration of the school outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.  Due to limited utilities during the winter, food and water will not be provided nor available at the school; you are responsible and must pack accordingly.  Due to the nature of the school, all students must be PHYSICAL CATEGORY 1 as defined by CAPP 52-18. REGISTRATION: Visit https://www.capranger.org/winterrangerschool to register and upload your completed and signed CAPF 31, 160, and 161 to https://goo.gl/forms/rwnYRcGZ0IbCA3wO2.  Cadets must have signed parental permission and out of PA Wing members must be signed by your Wing Commander.  If you are unable to upload your forms, you may e-mail them to hawkmountain@cap.gov at least 3 days before the school begins.
