Guest Speaker Series

posted in: General info, Regular meetings | 0

Good Evening,

The Orange County Cadet Squadron is pleased to introduce its new Guest Speaker program. Each month, the squadron plans to host Aerospace and Leadership professionals during our
regular meetings. We hope to inspire our squadron members to learn about opportunities in aerospace and emergency services by connecting with those working in these careers fields. Each month a guest speaker will present about career experiences, leadership lessons, and advice for persevering in difficult times. These presentations will be facilitated discussions, and there is opportunity to ask questions. If you know of anybody that would be interested in being a guest speaker please feel free to contact me at williamnlacombe@gmail.com.

Make sure to attend our inaugural Guest Speaker session 28 July 2020 as we host Colonel David L Pond (Retired).

Colonel David L. Pond retired on 1 April 2014 after serving nearly 30 years in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. Prior to his USAF service, Colonel Pond was a Civil Air Patrol
Cadet in Connecticut. He rose through the cadet ranks and lead his squadron to participate in National Cadet Competition. Colonel Pond received his commission in 1985 through Air Force ROTC at the University of Connecticut. He commanded 28 combat air refueling missions in Operation DESERT STORM and served in the 89th Airlift Wing as a Special Air Missions pilot and Presidential Advance Agent for Air Force One. During Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, he led 2200 military and civilian personnel performing day-to-day operations at the premier air mobility hub supporting military operations in Afghanistan as the Vice Commander, 376th Air Expeditionary Wing, Transit Center. He retired as the Special Assistant to the Director of Regionals Affairs, Secretary of the Air Force International Affairs at the Pentagon. In civilian life, Colonel Pond is a commercial pilot for a major pilot for a major US Airline. If you have any questions about Colonel Pond please come ready to ask them at Tuesday’s meeting. Thank you.
Very Respectfully,
C/2d Lt William LaCombe
