2019 Encampment, Staff Deadlines, and Financial Assistance

posted in: Special events | 0

Cadets,

The deadline to register for encampment this year is 15 June. Please go to the encampment page on our website for information and links to register online. Any cadets who’d like to attend and haven’t earned their Curry Award yet (first promotion) need to let senior staff know so they can work with you to promote. Here are a few things to consider:

  • Encampment is needed to attend a National Cadet Special Activity (NCSA)
  • Encampment is required to apply for any CAP scholarships
  • You’ll need encampment to promote beyond Chief Master Sergeant
  • You’ll learn a lot about CAP at encampment, and it will be a great experience you’ll always remember!

Financial aid is available again this year for cadets attending for the first time – see the link on the encampment page. Funds are limited and are awarded first come, first serve, so apply soon.

If you’ve previously been to encampment, are at least the rank of C/TSgt, and would like to return as part of the staff, you’ll need to start your application soon. The deadline for Part II of the application is 11 May for general staff and 6 Apr for command staff.

If you have any questions, email me at sean.flynn@ny030.org or see me at the next meeting. If you’ve never been to encampment, I strongly urge you to join us this summer!

V/r,

C/Maj Sean Flynn

Reminder – NCSA Application Deadline is 15 Jan

Cadets,

If you’ve attended encampment, you’re eligible to attend a National Cadet Special Activity (NCSA) this summer. NCSAs are a fantastic opportunity to learn more about aviation, engineering, leadership, emergency services, honor guard, cyber-defense, pararescue and survival, and many other things. If you haven’t attended encampment, plan on attending this summer to take advantage of winter and future summer NCSAs.

Applications must be completed through eServices by Jan 15th to be considered for priority placement. If you’re intending on applying or have any questions about NCSAs, please let 2d Lt Flynn know asap at deb.flynn@ny030.org. The link to NCSAs can be found on the bottom of eServices pages and is also below:
